La Rentree

A 3 track minimal/glitch single (23m 57s) — released January 7th 2008 on Doppelschall

La Rentree, the first release on the brand new Doppelschall label from Germany, blurs the borders between genres in a truely bold and unique way. Quality music is the common factor in an eclectic collection of beats, Scott, comprising of Cologne duo Daniel Brandt and Jan Brauer seek to create soulful minimal music with a stylish blend of real instruments and organic house rhythms. La Rentree features the duo's authentic 'minimalswing' beat, an infectious rhodes riff, atmospheric synths and an array of toe-tapping percussion. An ingenious combination of sounds that will work equally well in a minimal house set as in a electro-jazz mix. This coming together of influences is truely unique and unsurprisingly has already attracted such admirers as Compost's Michael Reinbooth, Benji B and Patrick Pulsinger. On the remix front, Douglas Greed, well respect German minimal producer, offers a darker and more techno based vision with typically bleak chords and subtle changes that will definitely impress on a big system.. On the flip-side, rapidly rising Tokyo producer Aroop Roy creates an equally dark and epic journey, maintaining the rhodes and percussion, but adding his shape shifting broken rythms and a deep and soulful breakdown that has been wowing the likes of Simbad, Spiritual South and Daz-I-Kue and is guaranteed to shock out any dancefloor.
